This is a great country tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd. The country artists who performed songs on this tribute album, really have great appreciation for Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Skynyrd's history & legacy. They really put their heart into these songs. The late/great Ronnie would be proud. These songs sound different than the Skynyrd versions, but they are very good. It's nice to have this variety of sound, available on these Skynyd Classics. All of these artists on this cd have a lot of backing musicians, which makes the sound quality very good. Plus, this one includes a Skynyrd rarity, "Four Walls of Raiford". This song was written by the late/great Ronnie Van Zant and Jeff Carlisi. It is on the Lynyrd Skynryd album, "Legends". This country version of this great song is well worth the price, just for that one song alone. It contains a great, great story, about an excapee from prison, who is innocent of the crime, he was convicted for.Also, another great treat is the Eli Young Band's performance of "Gimmie Three Steps". The EYB is from Denton, Texas. I saw them perform in concert a couple of nights ago, and they told their story of this tribute song, and performed it very, very well. They are true Skynyrd Fans, as are the other artists in this tribute album. Plus, you get a female singer (Ashley Ray) performing "Sweet Home Alabama", which is nice.If you like some variety in sound, and/or country music, and Skynyrd's songs, you'll love this one!!! I highly recommend it!!! Thanks!!!

A nice collection "tastefully done" of a varied selection of Lynyrd Skynyrd classics and not so often played songs. My only complaint, I just wish there were more!

As I got this I wasn't sure if country artists could do it well. They've excelled.My favorite is the Eli Young Band singing "Gimme Three Steps".
