The third volume of the Now That's What I Call Country series is a solid collection of great tracks with few missteps. The Positives:Kenny Chesney's "Ain't Back Yet" is nice to see on the collection since it was part of a re-issue of his Greatest Hits II package which I refused to repurchase. I didn't even like the song too much at the time, but it grew on me and I'm glad it's on this collection.Zac Brown Band's "Highway 20 Ride" is one of the few songs I've really liked by that group, so I wouldn't buy their CD, but again, glad this song made it onto this collection.Similarly are the songs included by Josh Turner and Martina McBride, where I generally like their singles but don't run out to pick up their albums.Keith Urban's "Til Summer Comes Around" is one of the best tracks off of Defying Gravity and is great to have on this collection. Anything by Rascal Flatts or Lady Antebellum is always welcome, as are Gary Allan and Brad Paisley (despite the fact that I have all of the music by all four of these artists). Chris Young's "The Man I Want To Be" such a touching song. The Missteps:Easton Corbin. While "A Little More Country Than That" isn't a horribly unbearable song, Corbin tries too hard to sound like a copycat voice of George Strait, which just makes the performance less enjoyable (when I want to hear George Strait, I put on my George Strait CD (or go to Track 8 of this collection)). It's a listenable song, but one I won't be adding to the MP3 Player. Also, I would have liked to have seen a few more female vocalists. This, could be solved (along with misstep #3 of having 16 tracks instead of the usual 20)) by adding Reba's "Keep On Loving You," Taylor Swift's "Fearless," "White Liar" or "The House That Built Me" by Miranda Lambert (and one more track, maybe something by Brooks & Dunn). The missteps don't devalue the collection. Well worth purchasing.
