The Pure Country soundtrack is the album that really made me a George Strait fan. I had liked George Strait before I saw him in the movie and bought the tape of the soundtrack album, but I have to say that after listening to the album, I got "hooked" on George. The ballad "I Cross My Heart" is my favorite song from this album, but "Heartland" and "Where The Sidewalk Ends", uptempo songs with some awesome lead guitar and fiddle parts, are also excellent songs. Furthermore, "When Did You Stop Loving Me" is a classic George Strait country song. These are just the highlights of an altogether excellent album. I think that in making the movie and the accompanying soundtrack album, George was telling us that there is still room for some "pure country" (quoting the movie's title) in the midst of all the "fluff" that I believe passes for country music nowadays. This one is definitely five stars, in my opinion.

Classics like Heartland, I Cross My Heart, When Did You Stop Loving Me, Overnight Male, King Of Broken Hearts, and Where The Sidewalk Ends are classic country and Straits shining moment. Awesome record a must get for the Music Lover
